🎻 Portland Fiddle Camp offers 3 different “tracks.”
General Track
Major/Minor Track
Teen Camp Track
Each track is designed to meet the ability level, age and musical interest of each camper. All tracks welcome violin, viola, cello and guitar.
General Track: Week #1 and/or Week #2. Age 6-10, Suzuki book 1 or below or less than 4 years of lessons. Campers will be grouped with kids their age and learn a variety of tunes in various styles. Each tune is customized for this ability level. You will indicate “General Track” for the week(s) your child will attend and that’s it! Remember you can sign up for General Track for both weeks! SO FUN!
Beginner students must have at least 1 year of private lessons before attending Fiddle Camp.
Major/Minor Tracks: Week #1 and/or Week #2. Age 10+, “Witches Dance” or above in Suzuki book 2 or 5+ years of experience. Just like choosing a major/minor in college, this track indicates two musical styles to focus upon: a major and a minor. Campers will deep dive into those specific styles. You will register your camper for TWO styles. See what we’ve cooked up for 2026 below!

During Week #1 we are so excited to have a track dedicated specifically to viola & cello. If your child plays either of these instruments, make sure the viola/cello track is one of your choices! Teacher Kevin is here to help!

We welcome cellos and violas during Week #2 as well, we just don’t have a specific “track” designed for them. We hope to offer the viola/cello track BOTH weeks next year!

Teen Track at FIDDLE CAMP 2026!
Teen Camp is a customized, specific week of tunes being taught to advanced players 14 and older. We welcome violin, viola, cello and guitar.
Teens are welcome at our General Camps too!

Teen Camp General - Learn tunes, work on arrangements and perform in the camp concert!
Teen Camp Counselor - Learn tunes, work on arrangements, perform in the camp concert AND Teacher Training! Campers on this track will learn teaching skills directly from Kate & Sophie who are both certified Suzuki trained teachers with 15 years teaching experience. Sessions will cover classroom management, how to break down a tune and real live student teaching.
*This track is mandatory for present and future Fiddle Camp Counselors and Junior Counselors under 16 years old. (discounted to $300)

Teen Camp $360
Teen Camp Returning counselors 16 and under pay $300
Week #1 / Week #2 $360 per week or $670 for 2 weeks
Sibling Rate is $335 per week or $620 for 2 weeks
Scholarship: We offer 50% off camp fee for one week per student. Fill out this quick Scholarship Request form.
🎻 Camp Takeaways
All campers master at least 4 tunes during the week taught by seasoned teachers/performers.
All campers receive their own Portland Fiddle Camp book of tunes, customized each year. (cellos & violas receive their own books in their own clefs!)
All campers get a t-shirt & picture from camp.
